PRIVATE CLIENT solicitor
Due to an exciting period of growth within our Private Client Department we are seeking a qualified Solicitor to assist our senior Solicitors in the Private Client Team and be involved in a broad range of transactions dealing with Wills, Trust and Estate Administration.
Key skills/responsibilities
- Taking instructions and drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney
- The ability to administer executry estates and trusts, drafting confirmation and IHT forms, executry accounts and general financial administration.
- Manage a high-quality caseload from taking clients’ instructions to distribution of the estate
- Providing support and supervision of Paralegals and Trainees
- The role will involve accurately preparing and drafting documents
- The ability to follow a disciplined schedule to ensure all accounting and tax compliance deadlines are met
Personal specifications
- 1 PQE +
- Previous experience working within Private Client department within a Scottish legal Firm is essential for this role as well as a passion for this area of Law
- Keeping up-to-date with developments in the law and tax regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the team and clients
- An enthusiastic approach and the ability to effectively manage time to complete tasks.
This is a permanent position, and we can offer this as either a full-time or part time position with excellent working conditions. The role will primarily be office based, but hybrid working may be possible for an experienced candidate.

PART TIME Administrative ASSISTANT/TYPIST
A new opportunity has arisen within the company and we are seeking an Administrative Assistant/typist to provide support to our busy team.
As part of your duties, you will provide general office administration support, maintain a busy reception answering and transferring calls, maintain good relations with existing clients and new enquiries. Perform ID checks to comply with Anti Money Laundering Regulations, banking, arranging couriers, filing, photocopying, following up emails, digital dictation typing, evening mail sorting and delivery.

This is a part time position hours will be 1pm- 5pm but are negotiable. Salary – National minimum and living wage rates will apply.

TRAINEE SOLICITOR
Summer 2026
We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee to join us. We can offer a varied and challenging Traineeship, with genuine prospects for long-term career advancement.
We seek applicants with strong academic credentials and with good communication and people skills. As a medium sized firm we can offer a rounded Traineeship with experience in varied legal work and direct client contact. Your training will be provided by experienced Solicitors who are approachable, and you will have supportive mentors.
We offer training in Private Client work, Residential and Commercial conveyancing and in Family Law. You will be part of a firm which believes in the importance of good work/life balance. You will have the opportunity to be involved in transactions from beginning to end gaining a full understanding of a Solicitor’s role.
Main tasks:-
- Working alongside our Directors/Associates/Paralegals
- Conducting Legal Research
- Corresponding with Clients and other Solicitors/Paralegals
- Assisting with busy and variety of caseloads from start to finish
- Providing support in drafting legal documents
Requirements:-
- A Degree in Law (Scottish) or pass in all prescribed exams via Law Society of Scotland’s alternative route to qualifying
- A Diploma in Professional Legal Practice
- Be confident in using technology and experience working with Microsoft Office
- Prove you have strong communication and organisational skills
- Positive outlook and attitude
